About Us

SKS Architects is a design firm located in Marin County, California that was founded in 2007. Initially comprised of a sole architect, Stewart Summers, the firm has since grown to a team of two California Licensed Architects and two draftspersons. SKS Architects handles both residential and commercial projects throughout Marin County and the Bay Area.

Residential projects include new home construction as well as remodels and additions. Our approach to residential design places an emphasis on balance, proportion, light, and connection to the outdoors. SKS Architects will either design the structure in a manner that blends seamlessly with the existing elements or completely transform the home into something new, depending on which approach is suitable to the specific project.

Commercial projects include tenant improvements for various commercial properties including but not limited to retail, restaurants and medical offices. SKS Architects ensures that spaces are designed in the most functionally efficient manner to meet the needs of both the business and its patrons.

On all projects, the goal of SKS Architects is to design spaces that respond to their surroundings in a well-crafted manner. SKS Architects takes great pride in collaboration with the client in order to ensure that the client’s needs and expectations are met, while providing aesthetically pleasing designs.
